Xidi 西递
Xidi is an ancient village locates in Anhui province of China. It was first built in the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD) but the rise was mainly contributed by the Hu family during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The Hu family began to act as merchants and gave rise to the construction of major private buildings and public infrastructure. Xidi has been declared as a part of the “Ancient Village in Southern Anhui” world heritage site by Unesco in 2000.
