Cambodia

Cambodia has a rich culture with a memory of the war tragedy. The Khmer Rouge turned the country to ‘year zero’ in 1975 by forcing its people to the countryside. After the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime in January 1979, Phnom Penh capital was empty. Leaving the tragedy behind, the country has now recovered with lights of opportunities. Ta Prohm is an interesting temple to visit. The local government has decided to leave the Silk-cotton trees intact in this temple, while most of the trees had been cut down in other temples in an attempt to protect the structures. As the trees grow, they have become a part of the structures.
